If you have recently adopted or are considering adopting a puppy or dog from the Highlands County Humane Society, you should certainly take advantage of the FREE OBEDIENCE TRAINING. Classes with Trainer Ray Mills are now being held on Saturday afternoons from 4:30 to 5:30 in a safe, fenced environment at the Humane Society at 7321 Haywood Taylor Blvd., in Sebring.
A few hours of your time NOW will mean a lifetime of happiness for you and your dog. Ray uses positive training methods to teach you and your dog basic obedience commands that will make it possible to communicate with your dog. Would you rather have your dog wildly jumping on you or your guests when entering your home-or be able to praise your dog for calmly sitting and staying on your command?
Would you rather be embarrassed by being dragged down the street every time you try to walk your dog-or be able to proudly say “Good Boy!” as your dog heels by your side, his attention focused on you and your signals? Obedience training makes life better for you and your dog.
In addition to Obedience Training, Ray emphasizes the importance of socialization with other dogs and people and basic good manners for dogs. He will also offer guidance on correcting problem behaviors, house breaking and many other topics.
The classes are also open to any dogs who were not adopted from the Humane Society for a one-time $35.00 fee. This is a great opportunity to get out and spend some quality time with your dog while you both learn some new skills.
YOU REALLY CAN TEACH AN OLD DOG-OR OWNER NEW TRICKS!
